The appearance of a strange winged creature amid a strong swirl in São Bento do Tocantins - TO. On YOUTUBE, posted on 19/09/2012. [http://youtu.be/6fuUviTi-Xg].

According to the tradition of Brazilian folklore, swirls are produced by sacis, the charmed being with one-legged, promoter romps more or less malign pranks.

It is not the case: the "entity" that appears in this whirlwind beyond biped has wings and there is no known version of winged sacis... 

Possible cogitations that it could be a bird caught by the whirlwind can be disregarded due to the size and shape of the head of this being.

TOCANTINS. This news was not published in any midia. In São Bento do Tocantins, small town in the state of Tocantins, a citizen, Renato Lemes Rabelo, filmed a whirlwind. Swirls of major proportions occur frequently, in this region (brazilian west center), this time of year.

The head of the National Institute of Meteorology in Goias, (Tocantins state neighbor), Elizabeth Alves Ferreira, told the G1 news channel, in another reportage on swirls* - that this is a normal phenomenon in this time of drought when the rains come close:

Normally - there is difference in temperature between the surface which is hotter, and an air layer more above, which is colder. This difference of temperature and pressure is what causes the whirlwind.

The news of the G1 channel, talks about a giant whirlpool, 35-feet tall, approximately that occurred in the city of Quirinópolis (state of Goias), on Monday, September 24th (2012) and that was recorded on video by a citizen, Renato Lemes Rabelo.

At 42 seconds of video of São Bento do Tocantins: another image, very quickly, shows a flying "object" on the left of the screen.

It happens that, searching for the video of the citizen of Goiás, on Youtube, the editor of this blog found a swirl much more curious. Besides being a violent spiral of dust, in this video, at 30 seconds of the 48 of the sequence, in a fleeting moment, on the screen, appears a strange winged creature that disappears quickly amid the turbulences of the wind.

The video, with few visitations - as is very common on the internet, has no additional clarification beyond the date of posting. His author, also is not identified, uses only a nickname: ricardo500ful. Probably many will say that the pictures are a trick but... maybe not be.

At 42 seconds, when the swirl is dissipating, another image, very quickly, shows an "object" flying to the left of the screen. It would be part of the "trick", perhaps ... The same object or creature appears again before the end of the video. Let's meditate ...

BRAZIL, northeast region. Saturday, september 22 (2012). At two states of the northeast region of Brazil, Pernambuco and Alagoas (states), a strong glare, a sphere of white light, crossed the sky and fell into the sea, scaring the population.

The photos are published in the internet. Some thank that the object was an UFO; other, a meteorite but, this monday, astronomers of the Observatório Astronômico da Sé (city of Olinda, Pernambuco state), belive that the sphere was, in treu, a satellite. 

The scientist of the Observatory, Alexandre Evangelista says: Despite the observations, it is important to say that we only can know what it was when we find the object for an exam.

Even with the uncertainties, analyzing brightness, astronomers have concluded the object is metallic, probably composed of iron and nickel. Moreover, because of the distance traveled, they realized that it came from hundreds of miles of high and that it was huge. 

The astronomer and mathematician, Antonio Carlos Miranda, did researchs along with other experts of the matter and also believes there is a good chance of object be part of a satellite. The scientist tries to query the Brazilian Space Agency to find out if there were records of this type of episodes.

Parts of satellites falling as meteorites is common. There is much spatial junk and leftover materials which, sometimes, are attracted by gravity, explains Miranda. These objects do not usually cause damage because they generally fall in the oceans. In the case of asteroids, often disintegrate upon entering the atmosphere.

The object that caused the event that was saw in Pernambuco, Alagoas and even at the state of Minas Gerais probably caused no damage. If it was a meteorite, the likely size and weight could cause a great impact and how he fell into the sea, a waves increase," said the astronomer, who believes that a satellite would have less mass and therefore would result in minor damages (MIRANDA).

Recently, on September 21 (2012), not just a satellite or piece of space junk fell to Earth. A rain ofthese debris occurred in the UK:

The matter of the space junk already was theme of discussions in 2009, when the collision of two satellites on  Feb. 10 (2009) in the quadrant of the sky in Siberia was considered a catastrophic event because because the scattered fragments in Earth orbit formed a kind of shield of trash and the concentration of  debris was considered a potentially, a danger. The orbit of the Earth seems a polluted beach!

Megafauna - Bone of Giant Armadillo Found at Brazil

BRAZIL, CEARA state. At a place named São Francisco das Almas, Juá district, at the city of Irauçuba, distant 150 km from Fortaleza, capital of the state of Ceara (northeast of the country), two men, while were digging a pit, they found a enormous bone that belonged to a creature of the megafauna that lived at Brazil there, at least, 15,000 years when these creatures were extinct. 

These giant animals dominated the Earth during Pleistocene, period of the geological history of the planet, in a past that dating back more to 2 million of years ago.

According to the professor of the Department of Palaeontology of the Federal University of Ceara (Departamento de Paleontologia da Universidade Federal do Ceará), Marcio Mendes, the fossil - which was buried to a depth of 4 meters, is of a giant armadillo (in the brazilian portuguese language, the armadillo is called Tatu).

The Megafauna at Brazil reunited several species. One of these was the Pampatherium, the giant armadillo. With the size of a donkey, but much more robust, weighing about 100 to 200 kg, its shell had three ranges.

Different of the current armadillos, which are insectivorous, ants eaters, the Pampatherium was a herbivorous was not a digger of the soil . It existed there 700,000 years ago and disappeared 10,000 years ago. The Pampatherium belongs to the family of the Dasypodideos (armadillos). The specie found in San Francisco das Almas is called Pampatherium humboldti.

BRAZIL. Creature Not Identified - Mutilated Animals and a Man Attacked

In the rural community of Sitio Lagoa, located there 5 km from the city of Barbalha, predation unusual by a creature not yet identified is causing panic among the locals - about 3000 inhabitants. This type of attack remember to the action of the chupacabras. In Brazil, the first of such events were documented in 2000. But this is the first time it happens in that region of the state of Ceará - called Cariri.

The ufologists visited places where attacks have occurred, which happen at dawn. On the property of the farmer Cassia dos Santos, the predator attacked a cat, a chicken and a pig. Some people, who managed to glimpse the creature, even in the dark, describe it as a dog, but - with a strange way to walk.

Others said that is an anthropomorphic being with a human face and humanoid limbs, but with the body of an animal. Many also have heard its roar, similar to a roar and said they felt a bad smell nearby. 

(In the past, these inhabitants of rural areas in Brazil, no doubt would say that is a werewolf, but werewolves are not in fashion of the folklore of nowadays, unlike the chupacabras, which are folk stars of postmodernity folklore).

The situation is really alarming. Not only animals are targets of the attacks of the creature. The farmer Elisha Ferreira do Nascimento, who lives 50 years ago in Sitio Laguna, said the problem started there not there two months, but six months ago, when a man was caught by the beast in a sugarcane field. This man was found unconscious and still has not recovered from injuries: even today, he no more can to walk.

At the city of Pentecoste, situated there 70 km from Fortaleza, capital of the state, the population is frightened with an luminous plasmic UFO that has appeared in sky of the city already for some nights. The object moves quickly, while change its shape, color, passing from a red ball to a silver disc or a bright yellow beam.

The frequency of sightings is so regular that, having knowing the ocurrences, a team of reportage, traveling to the city, had no difficulty in register the phenomenon. Really, in night fall, as the city's residents have reported, the fireball - as it is being called the object in the newspapers headlines, appeared in the sky allowing to make a footage of several minutes.

The Strange Creatures of Acreuna

BRAZIL. In the city of Acreuna, south of the Goias state (Central Brazil region) a strange being was found dead after an explosion provoked during the works of duplication of the road BR-060.

The creature, that people are calling ET of Acreuna, has has the bizarre appearance of a humanoid. Local dwellers tell that this is not the unique of its specie. Witnesses said have seen another two of these beings, that escaped the incident and are still alive in the region.

According to reports, as one of the sound technician's Alex de Jesus, the body was found on the banks of the river Verdão. The image was captured by a phone camera.

However, an expert in photoshop, Professor Leonardo Melo Moreira says that photography that is being published in the newspapers is a montage. 

Despite of the opinion of Moreira de Melo, in neighborhoods - persons such as the retired Geraldo Pereira - they ensure that the sightings of these creatures are common in the region: They appear beneath and around the canoes. Sometimes you can see them in groups that gather between 30 and 40 of them.

Ghost - Woman in White Photographed in Brazilian Road

RONDONIA state. In the brazilian road BR 364, in the dawn of Tuesday (6/19/2012), between the cities of Porto Velho (state capital) and Jacy Parana - a group of young people photographed the ghostly specter of a woman wearing what looks like a wedding dress - white.

The ghost, that has no head, was sliding in the darkness, crossing the lane of the highway. Two photos of the apparition were posted of the social network Facebook on Tuesday morning.

Cave paintings of 3,200 years discovered in the Peruvian jungle

PERUVIAN AMAZON. A team of archaeologists discovered the earliest murals in the Amazon forest in a cerimonial temple of 3200 years, located nearby the city of Bagua in a department of the amazonian Peruvian jungle. The news was published in numerous newspapers of spanish language.

The researchers considered that the finding, which occurred at a place called "Las Juntas", is the first of its kind in all the Amazonian jungle, not only in Peru. The archaeologist Qurino Olivera, head of research, said this is one of the most important discoveries of recent decades.

The paintings were discovered on the inside and outside of a temple which has the shape of a rectangle that has a dimension of about 40 square meters. So far, archaeologists have unearthed a wall of 2.20 meters wide and - even - they found several columns.

The predominant colors are red, white, black and yellow. According to experts, the murals are strong evidence that - in the Amazon - existed a civilization that achieved high levels of technological development.

Despite the torrential rains that occur daily in the area, the murals have been preserved because they remained covered by an impermeable layer of rock and clay 15 cm thick that protected the paintings for thousands of years, the researchers said.

The excavations and studies continue in the area with the permission of the Ministry of Culture of Peru and funding of the Regional Government of Amazonas.

BRAZIL. On the coast of Alagoas state, northeast of the country - in the open sea, a shipwreck was discovered. The first images show that the vessel was found wrapped in old fishing nets and other debris.

(On the place, for many years, is practiced fishing of shrimps). Moreover, the structure - was covered by barnacles that formed a crust. (Barnacles are sea creatures and crustaceans - that adhere to surfaces underwater rock formations, the skin of other animals such as whales, for example, and boat hulls.

The rescue of Thyatira

The discoverer of the piece was the diver Fernando Vagner who went to the site only to rescue a net of a fisherman - who was trapped in the depths

Fernando announced his discovery and an expedition was organized to investigate the case. 

The naval enginner, Francisco Glegiston tells: In this area of the coast the raids were frequent (But, later, was verified that this was not the case). It is an ancient ship (at this point of the investigation, researchers hadn't - yet - the identification of the origin and age of the find)

The investigation continued. The stern was examined. A piece of crockery with inscriptions and a symbol was found - as well a ceramic object. The mast broken revealed that it was a sailing craft, a sailboat. (There hadn't motor).

Finally, taken the proper cares, a big fragment was rescued by means of a cable. The crust of sediment was removed and - then - appeared the figure of a compass rose and the boat's name: Thyatira. The mystery was revealed.

The Thyatira was a sailboat from 60 meters in length and three masts. He left London bound for Rio de Janeiro on July 16, 1896 and disappeared or, better, it sank on this point of the Brazilian coast.
