ALAGOAS state. BRAZIL. Terça-feira, 25 de setembro (2012). In a neighborhood of Maceió, capital of th brazilian state of Alagoas (northeast of the country), big crystal stones fall from the sky frightening residents.
A citizen - a woman - interviewed by the SBT channel TV, said he heard a bang on the door. When came out to see what it was, she found the crystals stones.
The professor of the Federal University of Alagoas (Universidade Federal de Alagoas), Carlos Molion, believes that the stones are fragments of fallen meteorites.
Alagoas is one of the Brazilian states where, on september, 22 (2012), a large fireball was sighted in the nocturne sky moving quickly, ending its trajectory, immersing in waters of the sea. This object has been identified, theoretically, by the coordinator of the Astronomical Observatory Genival Leite Lima, among other astronomers, like a meteor.
